This section of the site is for every guitarjammers member that has something to share. Feel free to promote your band ,your music ,your web site, write about your favourite artist, your gear, live experiences, philosophy’s on music etc.
You can start posting right away. just register (see top navigation bar) write an article and submit it for review. Once approved your article will be visible on the site.
The article posting screen is pretty self explanatoiry but here’s a quick guide to posting an article a full tutorial will be added soon. This might seem complicated when reading. But it’s simple I suggest you register and have a look.
-Once registered click login (navigation bar) and when logged in click site admin ( visible to logged in users in navigation bar)
- in site admin choose Posts –> Add new from the left menu. In the editor screen write your article ( visual and htm editor available)
-You can use images in your article. Just click upload/insert and select image, upload, and press insert into post.
-you can link by selecting text and clicking the link button ( chain symbol)
-To post the thumbnail image that will appear on the main site do the following: beneath the editor you will find a box called “custom_fields”. From the “add new custom field” drop-down menu select “entry-preview” in the empty box next to it enter the url of your image (http://www.blablabla.com/image.jpg for example) you can use an external host for you images or upload the image to guitarjammers media library (left menu in the admin-screen).Rember the mage will be scaled to 260 x 110 pixels to match the sites layout. So its best to use images of the same proportion/ratio.
Or you can just write the article and leave the image field empty, in that case an image will be added for you during the reviw of your article.
Like i said before it might sound difficult but just log in and have a look.
Articles containing only a link to your youtube page will not be published. The article must have some info in it.
example:
Link to your jam over an backing track video: not Approved
Review of your new fx pedal with a link to your video jam using that pedal: Approved
Link to your myspace/band site: Not approved.
Tell something about your band, style, history etc then link to your myspace/band site: Approved
Link to new song: Not approved
Link to new song with some info on what gear you used: Approved.
So you dont have to write 1000 word articles. But if you just want to post a video or song ,use our forums.
